Lucky dumpster find this week – this gorgeous copper and while glazed bowl. This is going to become Eleggua’s tureen, after we find an appropiate dish to act as the lid. The tureen is used to keep the Orisha’s sacred attributes, offerings, necklaces, and the Otan, or sacred stone that keeps the Orisha’s Aché. It will be given to Eleggua in a big ceremony with lots of offerings, which I hope to have ready for Mardi Gras eve, the biggest day of the Carnival week here in Tenerife.
